About the Opportunity
Join an established Canadian manufacturer that designs and produces electrical equipment for utility and industrial customers. As an Application Engineering Specialist, you'll support customers by interpreting technical requirements, recommending product solutions, preparing quotations, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver high-quality service.
You'll work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales while developing expertise across a diverse product portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical problem-solving with customer interaction.

Your Responsibilities
• You'll review customer specifications and determine the technical and commercial requirements for each application.
• You'll prepare accurate quotations and cost models while recommending standard or customized product solutions.
• You'll collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing to ensure customer requirements are met.
• You'll provide technical guidance to the Sales team and, as your expertise grows, support customer discussions directly.
• You'll participate in contract review meetings and communicate engineering requirements for production and manufacturing.
Skills and Qualifications
• 3 to 5 years of experience in application engineering, technical inside sales, or a similar role within an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience interacting with customers, interpreting technical specifications, selecting equipment, and preparing technical quotations
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and commercial teams
• Experience with switchgear or other electrical power distribution equipment is considered an asset
• Experience using JDE or Salesforce is an asset, but training will be provided
