About the Opportunity

As a Construction Purchasing Specialist, you'll play an important role in sourcing the materials, equipment, and services needed to keep critical infrastructure projects moving forward.
Working alongside project managers, operations teams, and external suppliers, you'll apply your construction procurement expertise to deliver best-value outcomes while ensuring compliance with procurement policies and industry standards. Your Responsibilities
• You'll lead procurement activities for construction materials, equipment, and services supporting Facilities Management projects.
• You'll manage competitive procurement processes, including RFQs, RFPs, tenders, bid evaluations, and supplier negotiations using best value procurement practices.
• You'll administer construction procurement activities, including working with CCDC contracts and supporting projects throughout their lifecycle.
• You'll collaborate with project managers, operations teams, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure procurement requirements are met.
• You'll ensure procurement activities comply with organizational policies, internal controls, and applicable government procurement regulations.
• You'll foster strong supplier relationships while supporting efficient, compliant, and cost-effective procurement outcomes.
Skills and Qualifications
• 5+ years of progressive procurement experience supporting construction, facilities, infrastructure, or capital projects.
• SCMP designation, an MBA, or demonstrated experience with Construction CCDC contracts and construction sourcing.
• Strong knowledge of competitive procurement processes, including RFQs, RFPs, tenders, negotiations, and contract administration.
• Experience interpreting procurement policies, internal controls, and associated financial processes.
• Excellent relationship-building, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong computer proficiency and the ability to leverage technology to support procurement processes.
