Job Description

Location: Downtown Ottawa, ON, On-site
Language: Strong written and verbal English and French communication required
Duration: 1-day contract, September 24
Compensation: $24 an hour

About the Opportunity
Join a fast-paced, customer-focused event team supporting a one-day professional event in the heart of downtown Ottawa. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys meeting people, staying organized, and contributing to a seamless attendee experience.

You'll play an important role in welcoming guests, managing event registration, and providing administrative support throughout the day. Working alongside an experienced event team, you'll help ensure attendees receive a positive and professional first impression from start to finish.

Your Responsibilities
• You'll welcome attendees and provide friendly, professional customer service throughout the event
• You'll manage the registration desk, check in guests, and answer general event questions
• You'll scan attendee badges or tickets using event scanning equipment
• You'll assist with administrative tasks, including organizing materials and maintaining accurate attendance records
• You'll help ensure registration lines move efficiently while maintaining a positive guest experience
• You'll provide general event support as needed to keep operations running smoothly

Skills and Qualifications
• Previous customer service, reception, registration, or administrative experience is an asset
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional, approachable demeanor
• Comfortable using scanners, tablets, or other basic technology
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to remain calm and efficient in a busy event environment
• Reliable, punctual, and available to work the full day on September 24
• Able to stand for extended periods while supporting event operations
