About the Opportunity
We’re seeking a professional and approachable Receptionist to join a busy public sector environment in Edmonton. This is an urgent opportunity for someone with hands-on reception experience who enjoys being the first point of contact, thrives in a high-volume setting, and is available to start quickly.
You’ll support clients accessing important animal export certification services, many of whom speak English as a second language. Your patience, professionalism, and ability to understand each visitor’s needs and connect them with the right person or service will be key to creating a positive experience.

Your Responsibilities
• You’ll greet clients and other visitors entering the office, determine their needs, and direct them to the appropriate person, service, or location.
• You’ll answer inquiries and provide clear, helpful information to clients in person and by telephone.
• You’ll schedule appointments and maintain the client recall system to support timely service.
• You’ll receive and direct incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls.
• You’ll sort incoming mail, distribute messages, and help keep day-to-day communications organized.
• As you become familiar with the role, you’ll perform additional clerical and administrative duties to support the team.
Skills and Qualifications
• Direct experience in a receptionist or front-counter role greeting people entering an office or establishment, determining their needs, and directing them to the appropriate person or location.
• Active Reliability Status security clearance is required.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including patience, professionalism, and confidence supporting clients from diverse language backgrounds.
• Proven ability to stay organized and composed while managing a high volume of visitors, calls, inquiries, and appointments.
• Quick learner who can confidently pick up new processes and additional clerical responsibilities.
• Availability to start as soon as possible.
