About the Opportunity

Altis Recruitment is partnering with a well-established long-term care organization to hire a Temporary Business/Office Manager. This position provides essential caregiver-leave coverage and will help maintain accurate resident accounts, dependable financial processes, and responsive front-office support.

Working closely with residents, families, Powers of Attorney, Head Office, and internal team members, you will ensure sensitive financial matters are handled with care, accuracy, and professionalism. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with long-term care or retirement-home experience who can quickly step into an established operation and work independently.

What’s In It for You

You will join a supportive, people-focused environment where your work directly contributes to a positive experience for residents and their families. The current Business Manager has developed detailed documentation and Excel tracking tools, and Head Office will provide virtual guidance on organization-specific processes.

The client may consider either full-time or part-time availability, depending on the successful candidate’s experience and schedule.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll manage accounts payable, ensuring invoices are accurately processed and paid.

  • You’ll prepare resident billing, maintain resident accounts, and follow up on outstanding balances.

  • You’ll communicate professionally with residents, families, POAs, and the Public Guardian and Trustee regarding financial matters.

  • You’ll oversee resident trust accounts, funds, petty cash, and supporting documentation.

  • You’ll maintain detailed records of outstanding accounts, collection activity, and previous follow-up attempts.

  • You’ll meet biweekly with Head Office to review resident accounts and collection progress.

  • You’ll answer incoming calls and provide welcoming front-office support near the home’s main entrance.

Skills and Qualifications

  • At least 6 months of relevant financial administration experience within long-term care or a retirement-home environment.

  • Hands-on experience with AP, AR, resident billing, account follow-up, and collections.

  • PointClickCare experience is highly preferred.

  • Familiarity with resident trust accounts, POAs, and the Public Guardian and Trustee is an asset.

  • Strong Excel, documentation, organization, and record-maintenance skills.

  • Confidence handling sensitive financial conversations with professionalism and empathy.

  • Ability to work independently with limited onsite training and commute to Brantford for every scheduled shift.
