Legal Subject Matter Expert

The Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Legal professionals for a fully remote project where you will apply your legal expertise, analytical skills, research abilities, and professional judgment to specialized project work involving artificial intelligence.

This opportunity is ideal for lawyers and legal professionals with strong academic or professional experience who are comfortable analyzing complex legal issues, evaluating legal reasoning, identifying inaccuracies, and producing clear, well-supported written analysis.

Work can be completed flexibly throughout the week, allowing you to manage your own schedule while meeting project requirements and quality standards.

What You'll Do

Depending on your area of expertise, you may:

• Review and evaluate complex legal information and AI-generated legal analysis
• Assess legal reasoning for accuracy, logic, relevance, and completeness
• Review contracts, statutes, regulations, case law, and other legal materials
• Identify incorrect or unsupported legal conclusions
• Detect issues such as inaccurate citations, misapplied precedent, and jurisdictional errors
• Analyze contractual language and regulatory frameworks
• Develop legal questions and scenarios designed to test complex legal reasoning
• Research and interpret legal concepts, authorities, and methodologies
• Write clear, well-reasoned legal analyses and explanations
• Compare different approaches to legal problems and determine the strongest response
• Identify errors, inconsistencies, or areas requiring improvement
• Follow detailed project guidelines and quality standards
• Complete work independently while managing your own schedule

What We're Looking For

We're looking for individuals who bring:

• A JD, LLB, LLM, or equivalent legal qualification
• Professional legal experience and/or a strong academic background in law
• Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills
• Experience interpreting statutes, regulations, contracts, case law, or other legal authorities
• Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills
• Strong written communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• The ability to identify subtle errors in legal reasoning and supporting authorities
• The ability to evaluate complex information and make sound independent judgments
• Comfort working in a remote, self-directed environment

Experience in areas such as corporate and commercial law, litigation, contracts, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, privacy, employment law, securities, financial services, or other specialized areas of legal practice is considered an asset.

Experience as a lawyer, attorney, corporate counsel, in-house counsel, litigator, compliance professional, contract specialist, or other legal subject matter expert may be particularly relevant.

Advanced legal credentials, specialized practice-area expertise, significant legal writing or research experience, or experience analyzing complex legal and regulatory matters are also considered assets.
