Intermediate Data Quality Analyst
Location: Brampton, ON, Hybrid, primarily remote with on-site attendance for training or meetings as required, plus the first and last day of the assignment

About the Opportunity
Join a public sector organization undertaking a significant data quality initiative to modernize how development application information is tracked and maintained. As an Intermediate Data Quality Analyst, you’ll help ensure complex data is accurate, complete and reliable, supporting growth forecasting, infrastructure planning, reporting and operational decision-making.
This is a detail-focused role where you’ll work with development records, technical documentation and large datasets to uncover discrepancies and strengthen data integrity. Your ability to carefully cross-reference information and follow established business rules will have a meaningful impact on the quality of information teams rely on.

Your Responsibilities
• You’ll review development application files and validate information against source documentation, including planning reports, site plans, approval notices and registration records.
• You’ll extract and validate residential unit counts and gross floor area data by applicable classifications.
• You’ll compare application submissions and revisions to identify changes in development scope and maintain accurate historical records.
• You’ll verify application statuses, milestone dates, approvals, registrations and clearance information.
• You’ll identify discrepancies, missing information, duplicates and inconsistencies, escalating records requiring clarification or correction.
• You’ll enter validated information into Excel-based repositories and database systems while supporting historical data cleanup and migration.
• You’ll participate in quality control activities while maintaining progress and workload tracking records.
Skills and Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in data quality, data analysis, validation, cleansing or data governance.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including filtering, sorting, data validation and reconciliation techniques.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing, validating and correcting large, complex datasets.
• Strong analytical skills and experience investigating data discrepancies and integrity issues.
• Ability to interpret plans, charts, forms, reports and technical documentation with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong documentation, records management, organizational and written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with GIS, planning databases, records management systems or document management systems.
