We’re looking for an Excel, Data Management and Power BI Specialist to support a higher education organization focused on improving the efficiency, reliability and maintainability of its financial and operational reporting. This is a hands-on consulting opportunity where you’ll optimize existing tools, strengthen data quality and automate processes to reduce manual effort and the risk of errors.

You’ll collaborate with internal users to understand current reporting processes and implement practical improvements across Excel, Power Query and Power BI. Just as importantly, you’ll document your solutions and share your knowledge so the team can confidently maintain them going forward.

What’s In It for You
You’ll have the opportunity to make a visible impact by improving reporting processes that teams rely on every day. You’ll work across Excel, data management and Power BI while bringing forward practical ideas, improving existing solutions and helping internal users become more self-sufficient.

Your Responsibilities
• You’ll review and optimize complex Excel workbooks, formulas, calculations, controls and performance.
• You’ll identify and resolve data quality issues, including inconsistencies, duplicates and missing data.
• You’ll create, correct and optimize Power Query transformations to automate reporting processes and improve refresh reliability.
• You’ll review Power BI models, relationships, DAX measures, report design, visualizations and performance.
• You’ll recommend and implement practical improvements to reporting tools, data structures and processes.
• You’ll document solutions, transformations and controls while delivering knowledge-transfer sessions to internal users.

Skills and Qualifications
• 5+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting automation or a related field.
• Advanced Excel expertise, including complex formulas, Power Query and Power Pivot.
• Hands-on Power BI expertise, including data modelling, DAX, report design and performance optimization.
• Experience with data cleansing, standardization, validation and quality control.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to recommend pragmatic, maintainable solutions.
• Excellent communication, documentation and knowledge-transfer skills, with the ability to work professionally in French.
• Experience with finance or management reporting, SQL, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, Dataverse, ERP data or the broader public sector is an asset.
