Location: Lindsay, ON; fully on-site, five days per week
Language: Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English
Schedule: 37.5–40 hours per week, Monday to Friday; availability until 7:00 p.m. on Thursdays is mandatory
Background Check Requirement: Successful completion of a criminal background check, credit check and employment verification is required.

About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established organization in the financial-services industry, is seeking a Loan Consultant to join its Lindsay team permanently.

This opportunity is ideal for a warm, motivated and results-oriented individual who enjoys supporting customers, understanding their needs and recommending appropriate solutions. The position combines customer service, consultative sales, file follow-up and daily branch operations.

Previous lending or financial-services experience is not required. We are primarily looking for someone who can build trust with customers, is comfortable working toward goals, learns quickly and responds positively to coaching. Experience in retail, telecommunications, automotive services, hospitality, banking or another customer-focused environment could transfer very well to this position.

You will join a small, collaborative team led by an experienced manager whose approach focuses on training, coaching and developing each team member.

Your Responsibilities

• You’ll welcome customers to the branch and provide a warm, professional and respectful experience
• You’ll ask thoughtful questions to understand their circumstances, priorities and needs
• You’ll clearly present relevant lending solutions and available options
• You’ll explain products, terms and next steps in clear and accessible language
• You’ll collect and verify the information and documentation required to process applications
• You’ll maintain accurate files and complete timely customer follow-up
• You’ll contribute to individual and branch performance objectives
• You’ll support the daily activities required to keep the branch operating effectively
• You’ll develop lasting customer relationships through active listening, trust and quality service
• You’ll follow all applicable policies, procedures, confidentiality requirements and standards
• You’ll participate actively in training, coaching sessions and team discussions
• You’ll apply feedback to continuously improve your approach and results

Skills and Qualifications
• Experience in customer service, sales, retail, telecommunications, automotive services, hospitality, banking or a related environment
• Natural ability to build trust quickly with different types of customers
• Ability to ask effective questions, listen actively and recommend solutions based on identified needs
• Motivation to work toward goals and contribute to team results
• Openness to feedback and demonstrated ability to apply coaching
• Integrity, discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential information
• Resilience, initiative and a consistent approach to customer follow-up
• Ability to learn new products, processes and computer systems
• Ability to explain potentially complex information clearly and confidently
• Availability to work fully on-site during all branch operating hours
• Mandatory availability from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursdays
• Daily access to a reliable vehicle
• Legal authorization to work in Canada at the time of hire and throughout employment
• Previous financial-services or banking experience is considered an asset but is not required
