About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a Policy and SOP Consultant to support a Canadian retail organization with the maintenance, improvement, and development of policies, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and business process documentation. This is a flexible opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing clarity and consistency to operational documentation.
You’ll collaborate with subject matter experts, operational teams, project teams, and business leaders across functions including merchandising, marketing, finance, inventory management, contact centre services, and product teams. Initially, approximately 80–90% of the work will focus on reviewing and updating existing policies and SOPs, with the role evolving to support new documentation as a major ERP transformation progresses.

Your Responsibilities
• You’ll review, edit, update, and maintain existing policies and SOPs, including scheduled cycle reviews
• You’ll draft new SOPs, work instructions, policies, and supporting documentation based on input from business owners and SMEs
• You’ll develop process maps and workflows that clearly document current and future-state business processes
• You’ll facilitate interviews, workshops, and working sessions to gather and validate requirements
• You’ll identify documentation gaps and ensure materials remain consistent with operational practices and governance requirements
• You’ll support ERP transformation activities by documenting changing processes, procedures, and operating models
• You’ll provide regular progress updates and maintain organized, accurate documentation
Skills and Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience supporting policies, procedures, SOPs, process documentation, or business process frameworks
• Strong process mapping, workflow documentation, technical writing, and document development skills
• Experience facilitating stakeholder discussions and gathering requirements from SMEs
• Strong written communication skills with excellent attention to detail
• Experience in retail or operational environments is strongly preferred
• ERP transformation, business transformation, or operational improvement experience is a strong asset, with Oracle experience considered valuable
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams
