Previous lending or financial services experience is not required. We’re looking for someone who is confident speaking with customers, comfortable picking up the phone, and naturally able to build rapport and trust. Your experience could come from retail, hospitality, restaurants, telecommunications, automotive, banking, fitness, customer service, or another fast-paced customer-facing environment.
You’ll support customers throughout the lending process by understanding their financial needs, explaining available options, and recommending appropriate solutions. Some conversations may involve customers experiencing financial hardship, making empathy, professionalism, and sound judgment especially important.
What’s in It for You
You’ll join a performance-driven environment where coaching, learning, and continuous improvement are encouraged. You’ll receive support as you develop your knowledge of lending products, policies, and customer solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity to build experience within financial services while strengthening your sales, relationship management, and customer advisory skills.
Your Responsibilities
- You’ll connect with customers by phone and in person to understand their financial needs and identify appropriate solutions
- You’ll proactively follow up with customers who have submitted applications and manage applications through to completion
- You’ll make a high volume of outbound customer calls, which may include 40–50+ calls per day
- You’ll ask thoughtful questions about customers’ financial circumstances while approaching sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism
- You’ll explain lending options, products, coverage, and applicable terms clearly so customers can make informed decisions
- You’ll recommend appropriate lending solutions and identify additional products or services that may benefit the customer
- You’ll maintain timely follow-ups, accurate documentation, and organized customer records
- You’ll work toward individual and branch sales and performance goals
- You’ll support customers experiencing payment challenges and work toward practical solutions within established policies
- You’ll consistently follow lending policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- You’ll participate in regular coaching and apply feedback to continuously strengthen your performance
Skills and Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, restaurants, sales, call centres, or another customer-facing environment is preferred
- Financial services, lending, banking, collections, or insurance experience is considered an asset but is not required
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build rapport and establish trust
- Comfortable making frequent outbound calls and proactively following up with customers
- Confident discussing sensitive topics, including customers’ financial circumstances and payment challenges
- Customer-focused and empathetic while remaining comfortable recommending and selling appropriate products and solutions
- Motivated by goals, targets, measurable performance, and continuous improvement
- Strong listening, questioning, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Organized and able to manage multiple applications, customer commitments, follow-ups, and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Coachable and adaptable with a willingness to apply feedback
- Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and sound judgment when handling confidential customer information
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
