Job Description

Location: Ottawa-Gatineau, ON/QC, On-site and field-based
Language: Strong written and spoken communication skills required
Background Check Requirement: Clean driving record required, along with a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

About the Opportunity
This permanent Business Development Representative opportunity is with a growing restoration and reconstruction organization supporting property managers, building operators, insurance partners, and commercial properties. When a flood, fire, mold, asbestos issue, or other emergency happens, your goal is simple: be the person clients already know and trust enough to call first.

This is a highly active, relationship-driven sales role for someone who would rather be out meeting people than sitting behind a desk. You’ll build genuine relationships across the Ottawa-Gatineau market, create value between emergency events, and help turn trusted connections into long-term partnerships.

What’s In It for You
This is a role where your hustle, consistency, and ability to build genuine relationships are recognized and rewarded. In addition to the compensation outlined in the posting, you’ll have access to activity-based incentives that reward you for doing what drives success, getting out into the market, opening doors, and building relationships. You’ll have the autonomy to own your territory, get creative with how you stay top of mind, and join a competitive, growth-focused team where your effort can make a visible impact.

Your Responsibilities
• You’ll build relationships with property managers, building operators, facility leaders, insurers, and other key decision makers.
• You’ll hit the pavement with a minimum of five in-person site visits per day and approximately 200 outbound relationship calls per month.
• You’ll creatively stay top of mind through site visits, preparedness sessions, events, follow-ups, and other value-added touchpoints.
• You’ll qualify and prioritize accounts based on decision-making authority and genuine revenue potential.
• You’ll respond quickly during active losses and remain engaged as restoration work progresses into rebuild and reconstruction opportunities.
• You’ll maintain strong CRM discipline, logging activities, insights, contacts, and next steps daily.

Skills and Qualifications
• 2+ years of outside sales, business development, door-to-door sales, or field-based account management experience.
• Demonstrated success working toward ambitious daily and monthly activity metrics.
• Confidence with cold prospecting and building relationships face-to-face.
• Experience in restoration, property management, insurance, construction, building services, telecom, or another high-activity sales environment is an asset.
• Strong CRM discipline, initiative, creativity, and follow-through.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and clean driving record.
• Knowledge of water, fire, mold or asbestos remediation, insurance claims, Xactimate, or IICRC standards is an asset.

Note from the Hiring Manager
“We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys getting out there, meeting people and building relationships. This is a role for someone who wants to hit the pavement, stay disciplined with their activity and become the person clients think of first when something goes wrong.”
