About the Opportunity
Join a public sector organization in a procurement role where your expertise will help teams secure the complex goods and services they need to operate effectively. You’ll manage procurement activities from initial planning through contract administration, balancing client needs with transparency, fairness, compliance, and value.

You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, consultants, contractors, and a collaborative Purchasing and Operations team. This is an opportunity to build strong relationships, solve complex procurement challenges, and contribute to procurement practices that support accountable public service.

What’s In It for You
You’ll gain hands-on exposure to complex public sector procurements while strengthening your expertise across sourcing, tendering, negotiations, contract administration, and supplier management. You’ll join a team-oriented environment where collaboration, sound judgment, continuous learning, and high-quality service are valued.

Your Responsibilities
• You’ll partner with internal groups to understand procurement needs and recommend appropriate sourcing strategies.
• You’ll review technical specifications, delivery requirements, costs, and supplier availability to determine the right procurement approach.
• You’ll prepare tender and proposal specifications, evaluate submissions, and support the award of tenders, quotations, and proposals.
• You’ll liaise with consultants and contractors regarding scope, pricing, specifications, and contractual terms.
• You’ll execute and administer contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and related procurement documentation in accordance with established policies.
• You’ll monitor supplier performance and contractual compliance, helping resolve disputes and escalating issues when required.
• You’ll stay current on procurement, technology, economic, and marketplace trends and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications
• 1–3 years of relevant professional procurement experience, supported by a university degree.
• You’re working toward or currently obtaining a recognized professional purchasing designation through an established supply chain or public procurement association.
• Strong knowledge of procurement practices, principles, sourcing processes, negotiation techniques, and cost-breakdown analysis.
• Experience applying public sector procurement policies and resolving pre- and post-contractual issues.
• Knowledge of contract law related to proposals, tenders, negotiations, risk management, legislation, regulatory requirements, and jurisdictional codes.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Note from the Hiring Manager
“We’re looking for someone who understands the importance of fair and thoughtful procurement, enjoys working collaboratively with stakeholders, and brings sound judgment to complex purchasing decisions.”
