The Opportunity
Altis Recruitment is partnering with a leading organization to hire an experienced Operational Purchaser for a four-month contract with the potential to transition into a permanent position.
This opportunity is ideal for a procurement or supply chain professional with experience working in an engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or technical environment. You will manage day-to-day purchasing activities, support supplier relationships, and work closely with internal teams to ensure materials and parts are ordered, delivered, and received on time.
The successful candidate will bring hands-on SAP experience, ideally with SAP S/4HANA, along with strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage purchasing and order-management activities for warehouses and operational locations across the Americas.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Operations, Logistics, Transportation, Controlling, and Customer Order Management teams to support the timely fulfillment of orders.
- Act as the primary operational point of contact for an assigned portfolio of suppliers.
- Manage day-to-day supplier communications, inquiries, delivery updates, and issue resolution.
- Monitor supplier performance and address service, quality, delivery, or operational concerns.
- Build productive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support business and customer requirements.
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, established processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of purchasing transactions, communications, approvals, and supporting documentation.
- Analyze purchasing and supply chain processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, performance, and cost effectiveness.
- Establish, monitor, update, and benchmark operational metrics.
- Recommend practical process improvements based on performance data and operational needs.
- Support internal and external audit activities by providing accurate information and documentation.
What You Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain management, or a related function.
- Experience working in an engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or technical environment.
- Hands-on experience using an ERP system for purchasing and order management.
- Proficiency with ERPs; experience with SAP is a strong asset.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with spreadsheet data to monitor performance and support decision-making.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills are considered an asset.
