Job Description

Location: New Westminster, BC, hybrid, two days per week on-site, with occasional travel to Burnaby and other Greater Vancouver locations
Language: Strong written and spoken English communication skills required
Duration: 14-month full-time contract, 37.5 hours per week, with the possibility of extension

About the Opportunity
Join a major public-sector transportation organization as a Software Development Analyst, supporting the modernization of a business-critical operational logging platform. You will help replace a legacy system with a secure, reliable solution built on Microsoft Power Platform and integrated with essential enterprise and reporting systems.

You will work closely with project leadership, train operations, cybersecurity, architecture, infrastructure, analytics, and development teams. Your work will help ensure operational information moves accurately and securely across systems that support reliable transportation services across the region.

Your Responsibilities
• You’ll gather and analyze integration requirements, data structures, interfaces, and business processes.
• You’ll design data mappings, transformation rules, API contracts, message schemas, and integration workflows.
• You’ll develop and support REST APIs, SOAP web services, event-driven integrations, and secure file-based interfaces.
• You’ll build Azure-hosted integration services using approved architecture, security, and development standards.
• You’ll plan and execute unit, integration, system, and user acceptance testing activities.
• You’ll troubleshoot data synchronization, interface failures, API performance, and production issues.
• You’ll prepare technical specifications, deployment plans, support procedures, and knowledge-transfer documentation.

Skills and Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience developing and supporting enterprise application integrations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Dataverse, and Power Automate.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Functions, API Management, Service Bus, Event Grid, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and deployment automation.
• Strong knowledge of REST, SOAP, SQL Server, T-SQL, data mapping, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, Microsoft Entra ID, HTTPS, TLS, certificates, SFTP, and PGP encryption.
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication, troubleshooting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
