About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading organization in the residential property management sector, is seeking an Accounting Associate to join their collaborative finance team on a 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, account reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Your Responsibilities

  • You'll reconcile resident and general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.
  • You'll review and maintain resident account balances within Yardi while supporting overall ledger accuracy.
  • In this role, you'll investigate and respond to resident account inquiries received through the internal ticketing system.
  • You'll prepare reconciliation reports and analyze financial data using Microsoft Excel.
  • You'll collaborate closely with internal departments to ensure financial information remains accurate and up to date.
  • You'll support the accounting team with additional bookkeeping and administrative responsibilities as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 1+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or accounts receivable experience.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Property accounting experience and familiarity with Yardi are considered strong assets.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused and collaborative approach.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities while working independently in a deadline-driven environment.
