This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in optimizing payroll operations, strengthening processes, and supporting a large, diverse workforce during an important stabilization phase.
Working closely with Payroll, HR, Finance, IT, and operational leaders, you'll provide strategic and hands-on leadership while mentoring a team of Payroll Professionals. Your expertise will help ensure accurate, compliant payroll processing while driving continuous improvement across a highly regulated, unionized environment.
What's In It for You
• Join an organization committed to delivering meaningful services that positively impact thousands of employees.
• Lead a large-scale payroll function during a transformational period where your expertise will make an immediate difference.
• Collaborate with experienced cross-functional leaders in Finance, HR, and Technology.
• Build and mentor a growing payroll leadership team in a culture that values collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.
• Competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for long-term career growth.
Your Responsibilities
• You'll lead the day-to-day delivery of Canadian payroll for a complex workforce of full-time, part-time, salaried, hourly, unionized, and non-union employees.
• You'll provide leadership, coaching, and performance support to the Payroll team while strengthening team capability.
• You'll oversee payroll compliance, statutory deductions, T4 preparation, year-end activities, ROEs, and payroll reconciliation.
• You'll partner with HR, Finance, IT, and business leaders to resolve Oracle Fusion payroll issues and optimize business processes.
• You'll support post-implementation stabilization, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and help transition payroll operations into a sustainable future state.
Skills and Qualifications
• 7+ years of payroll leadership experience, including management of payroll teams.
• PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation is required.
• Strong experience with unionized payroll within a healthcare organization.
• Oracle Fusion Payroll experience is required, with Oracle Fusion implementation or post-go-live stabilization experience considered a significant asset.
• Extensive knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, statutory deductions, T4 processing, year-end activities, and payroll compliance.
• A collaborative, resourceful, and highly communicative leadership style with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
