Manager, Trade Operations
Location: Toronto, ON, Fully Onsite
Compensation: $120,000 to $135,000 base salary plus bonus and benefits

About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established global investment management organization, is seeking a Manager, Trade Operations to join their growing operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting sophisticated investment strategies by ensuring the seamless execution, settlement, and oversight of trade activity across multiple asset classes.
Working closely with portfolio managers, traders, custodians, brokers, and internal stakeholders, you will help drive operational excellence while leading a high-performing team. Your Responsibilities
- You'll oversee the end-to-end trade lifecycle, ensuring trades are confirmed, settled, and reconciled accurately and on time.
- You'll manage treasury-related payments, bank portals, SWIFT connectivity, and relationships with custodians and banking partners.
- You'll lead and support the Trade Operations team, providing guidance while driving operational efficiency and continuous process improvements.
- You'll collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, and third-party investment managers to resolve trade exceptions and deliver exceptional operational support.
- You'll help strengthen operational controls by supporting SOC 1 initiatives, monitoring KPIs and SLAs, and identifying opportunities to enhance governance and reporting.
- You'll oversee account administration, derivative settlements, collateral movements, and other critical operational activities.
Skills and Qualifications
- 7 to 10+ years of progressive experience within investment operations, trade operations, middle office, or back-office operations in an asset management or hedge fund environment.
- Strong knowledge of trade settlement, fixed income securities, derivatives, and global market operations.
- Experience managing payment processes, SWIFT messaging, treasury activities, and custodian relationships.
- Exposure to operational control frameworks such as SOC 1 or SOX, audit support, or governance initiatives is considered an asset.
- Experience with platforms such as Bloomberg, Aladdin, PAM, Tableau, Power BI, or reconciliation tools is an asset.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills within a fast-paced investment environment.
