About the Opportunity
This isn't a traditional facilities management role. It's an opportunity to shape a next-generation workplace from the ground up, influencing every stage from construction and commissioning through to long-term operations. You'll join the project before occupancy, working alongside architects, construction leaders, workplace technology specialists, and design consultants to ensure the workplace is built not only to function, but to deliver an exceptional experience for the people who use it every day.

Once the building opens, you'll become the long-term owner of the workplace, overseeing facilities operations, asset lifecycle management, vendor partnerships, compliance, and continuous improvement. You'll also help bring smart workplace technologies to life by collaborating with Microsoft infrastructure specialists and technology partners to support digital workplace experiences, connected building systems, automation, and mission-critical infrastructure. As the organization grows, you'll build and lead the facilities function, creating the standards and team that will support future expansion.

What's In It for You
• Be part of a landmark workplace project where you'll influence decisions from the earliest stages and see your vision come to life.
• Enjoy the rare opportunity to own the complete lifecycle of a flagship workplace, from construction through long-term operations, creating a lasting professional legacy.
• Work alongside industry experts across construction, workplace technology, and smart building systems.
• Join a culture that values curiosity, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, where new ideas are encouraged and your contributions are recognized.
• Build and lead a growing facilities function as the organization continues to expand.
• Access employer-supported professional development and performance-based bonus incentives.

Your Responsibilities
• You'll represent facilities operations throughout construction, partnering with architects, contractors, consultants, and technology specialists to ensure operational needs are embedded into the workplace from day one.
• You'll lead commissioning, operational readiness, system handover, and the transition from construction to occupancy, establishing the foundation for long-term success.
• You'll oversee facilities operations, preventative maintenance, vendor performance, compliance, budgets, and asset lifecycle management to deliver a safe, efficient, and high-performing workplace.
• You'll collaborate with Microsoft infrastructure specialists and technology partners to bring smart workplace solutions to life, supporting digital workplace services, connected building systems, automation, and workplace technology.
• You'll coordinate facilities support for mission-critical infrastructure, working alongside specialist IT partners to ensure site readiness, maintenance, physical security, and service continuity.
• You'll establish operating procedures, performance metrics, and scalable processes while building and leading a facilities and workplace operations team as the organization grows.

Skills and Qualifications
• 10+ years of progressive experience in facilities management, workplace operations, corporate real estate, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience supporting complex commercial office fit-outs, construction projects, commissioning, and long-term facilities operations.
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance programs, asset management, vendor contracts, procurement, facilities budgeting, and lifecycle planning.
• Experience coordinating integrated building technologies including access control, security systems, building automation, lighting controls, audio visual systems, workplace booking platforms, or related smart workplace solutions.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Places, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, CAFM, IWMS, CMMS, or similar workplace technologies, with the ability to collaborate with technical specialists and manage integrated solutions is considered a strong asset.
• Proven ability to lead projects, influence stakeholders, solve complex operational challenges, and build collaborative relationships across technical and business teams.
• Experience developing standard operating procedures, emergency preparedness plans, technical documentation, and compliance records while promoting health, safety, accessibility, and business continuity.
• A degree, diploma, trade qualification, or equivalent professional experience in facilities management, engineering technology, construction, property management, or a related field.

Note from the Hiring Manager
"We're looking for someone who enjoys building exceptional workplaces from the ground up. If you're equally comfortable collaborating with construction teams, technology partners, and business leaders while bringing structure, innovation, and practical solutions, you'll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact."
