Functional Analyst

Location: New Westminster, hybrid with two days per week on-site

In this collaborative role, you will partner with Product Managers, Product Owners, business stakeholders, Data Engineers, Software Developers, QA Analysts, and Solution Architects to translate business needs into high-quality functional solutions. You will play a key role in delivering value through Agile methodologies while contributing to modern cloud-based analytics and business intelligence initiatives.

Your Responsibilities
• You'll lead requirements gathering workshops and stakeholder interviews to capture, analyze, and validate business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
• You'll translate business needs into Business Requirements Documents, Functional Requirements Documents, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
• You'll analyze current business processes, develop As-Is and To-Be process maps, perform gap assessments, and recommend process improvements.
• You'll collaborate closely with business and technical teams to support solution design, data requirements, reporting needs, and analytics initiatives.
• You'll coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing, including test scenarios, test cases, requirements validation, and defect resolution.
• You'll participate in Agile ceremonies, manage requirements traceability, and maintain project documentation in accordance with established governance standards.

Skills and Qualifications
• 5+ years of progressive experience as a Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, or in a similar role.
• Demonstrated experience eliciting, documenting, and validating business and functional requirements using BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Strong experience with business process analysis, process mapping, workflow documentation, and gap analysis using Microsoft Visio.
• Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing, including test planning, execution, and defect triage.
• Solid understanding of Agile delivery methodologies, including experience working within a SAFe Agile environment.
• Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps for backlog management, sprint planning, and user story management.
• Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, analytical, communication, and documentation skills. Experience supporting enterprise analytics, reporting, or digital transformation initiatives is considered an asset.
