About the Opportunity

Our client, a respected organization in the financial services sector, is looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their Finance Operations team on a 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where accuracy and efficiency are essential.

Your Responsibilities

• You'll process high volumes of invoices, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely entry into the accounting system.
• You'll coordinate vendor payments and maintain organized payment schedules to support efficient financial operations.
• You'll review and reconcile employee expense reports, verifying compliance with company policies and resolving discrepancies.
• You'll perform payment processing and data entry with a high degree of accuracy while utilizing Excel throughout the day.
• You'll support broker disbursement payment processing and reconciliation activities as your knowledge and experience develop.

 

Skills and Qualifications

• 2-3 years of Accounts Payable experience
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, sorting, filtering, and reconciliations.
• Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processes and accounting principles.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage high-volume transactional work.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Experience within financial services, banking, or real estate is considered an asset.
