About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established private real estate investment and development organization, is seeking a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis and Investments to join their growing finance team. This is a unique opportunity to step into a highly strategic role where you'll influence investment decisions, shape financial strategy, and help drive the continued growth of a dynamic, capital-intensive business.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you'll work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams across finance, development, and operations. This is more than a traditional FP&A role. You'll lead the planning process, challenge financial assumptions, oversee sophisticated modelling, and provide decision-ready insights that support major business and investment decisions.

What's In It for You

  • Join a collaborative, entrepreneurial organization where your ideas and expertise will have a direct impact.
  • Lead and mentor a growing FP&A team while partnering closely with experienced finance leaders.
  • Gain exposure to complex financial modelling, investment analysis, and executive-level decision making.
  • Be part of a workplace that values ownership, continuous improvement, innovation, and professional growth.

Your Responsibilities

  • You'll lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, reforecasting, and management reporting processes across the organization.
  • You'll design, build, and review complex financial models, including development proformas, underwriting models, cash flow forecasts, and scenario analyses.
  • You'll partner with business leaders to challenge assumptions, evaluate opportunities, and provide meaningful financial recommendations.
  • You'll establish and maintain modelling standards, documentation, and reporting processes to improve quality and consistency.
  • You'll mentor and develop a small FP&A team, providing technical guidance and ensuring high-quality analytical output.
  • You'll support executive leadership with investment analysis, business cases, and strategic financial planning.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment analysis, or real estate finance.
  • CPA designation required. CFA designation or progress toward completion is considered an asset.
  • Advanced financial modelling skills, including budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis, and business case development.
  • Experience within real estate development or another capital-intensive industry such as infrastructure, construction, utilities, or private equity is highly desirable.
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience using ERP systems. Exposure to automation tools, Power Query, AI, or financial technologies is considered an asset.
  • Strong leadership, business partnering, and communication skills with the confidence to influence executive decision-making.

Note from the Hiring Manager

"We're looking for someone who enjoys asking the tough questions, challenging assumptions, and building finance processes that support better business decisions. If you're naturally curious, technically strong, and enjoy mentoring others while staying hands-on, we'd love to meet you."
