About the Opportunity

An industry-leading healthcare organization is expanding its mature Cloud Engineering practice and is looking for a Kubernetes Architect to help shape the next generation of its cloud platform. This is an opportunity to influence enterprise-wide technical strategy while remaining closely connected to engineering teams and hands-on architecture.
Working alongside cloud engineering leaders, architects, and development teams, you'll translate strategic cloud initiatives into scalable technical blueprints that accelerate application delivery. From defining Kubernetes standards to driving platform modernization and GitOps adoption, you'll play a key role in helping the organization scale its cloud capabilities and modernize how software is built and deployed.

Your Responsibilities
- You'll define Kubernetes architecture, cloud-native standards, and enterprise best practices that support scalable, secure platforms.
- Partner with engineering teams to translate cloud strategy into technical roadmaps and implementation-ready architecture.
- Architect and evolve an Integrated Developer Platform (IDP), enabling standardized CI/CD pipelines, automation, and developer self-service.
- Provide technical leadership on Kubernetes, GitOps, DevOps, and cloud platform architecture while mentoring engineering teams
- Help lead strategic modernization initiatives, including the adoption of Gateway API architecture and next-generation platform capabilities.
- Collaborate across Cloud Engineering to drive automation, platform reliability, and continuous improvement.
Skills and Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, infrastructure, platform engineering, or cloud engineering, including architecture ownership.
- Deep expertise designing and implementing Kubernetes architecture within enterprise cloud environments.
- Strong cloud architecture experience, preferably with Microsoft Azure, with exposure to GCP or AWS considered an asset.
- Proven experience defining technical strategy and translating business requirements into scalable engineering solutions.
- Extensive experience with DevOps, GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and automation using tools such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Ansible, and Python.
- Experience with Helm, Kustomize, Crossplane, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Argo Workflows, AKS, GKE, Terraform, and Kubernetes networking technologies including Gateway API, Cilium, Azure CNI, NGINX Ingress, and Istio is considered a strong asset.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OPA/Gatekeeper, GitOps methodologies, observability, security, networking, and Kubernetes governance is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence technical direction, mentor engineers, and drive organizational change.
