Are you a CPA who enjoys balancing hands-on accounting with team leadership? We’re recruiting on behalf of a non-profit organization seeking a Supervisor, Accounting to play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance, and strengthening financial operations.

Working closely with the Assistant Controller and a collaborative finance team, you'll oversee day-to-day accounting activities, supervise the accounts payable function, and contribute to financial reporting, audit support, and process improvements. Your Responsibilities

  • You'll oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, capital assets, and investment accounting to ensure accurate and timely financial records.
  • You'll prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses.
  • You'll supervise the accounts payable function, ensuring timely invoice processing, payment approvals, and compliance with internal policies.
  • You'll support the annual audit by preparing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and maintaining complete financial documentation.
  • You'll monitor and strengthen internal controls, identify process improvement opportunities, and assist with developing accounting procedures and workflows.
  • You'll collaborate with departments across the organization to provide financial guidance and ensure compliance with accounting standards and legislative requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in full-cycle accounting and corporate finance.
  • CPA designation and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, general ledger reconciliations, and internal controls.
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to explain financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
