Compensation: $24.00 to $27.00 per hour, based on experience

Your Responsibilities
• You'll answer and redirect medium to high volumes of incoming telephone calls with professionalism and accuracy.
• You'll coordinate hospital paging, public announcements, and emergency code activations using the hospital communication systems.
• You'll respond to inquiries from patients, visitors, and staff while providing exceptional customer service.
• You'll accurately manage emergency communications, ensuring hospital codes and urgent events are communicated promptly.
• You'll maintain and assign communication devices, including pagers, while completing administrative tasks and assisting with month-end reporting.
• You'll prioritize competing demands, remain calm under pressure, and support the communications team in a fast-paced 24/7 environment.
Skills and Qualifications
• College diploma or certificate required.
• Previous experience in a healthcare, hospital switchboard, call centre, or high-volume customer service environment is considered a strong asset.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with hospital emergency codes is highly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and communication systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service.
• Ability to work independently while remaining composed during high-pressure situations.
• Availability to work a rotating part-time schedule consisting of day (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.), evening (3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.), and night (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and statutory holidays.
• Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check. Candidates may also be required to complete assessments evaluating typing speed, attention to detail, and prioritization skills as part of the recruitment process.
