Working closely with business leaders, legal, privacy, audit, and technology stakeholders, you'll contribute to initiatives that improve how information is classified, retained, and managed throughout its lifecycle. Your Responsibilities
• You'll develop and maintain records classification structures and retention schedules aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
• You'll analyze end-to-end business processes to identify records, retention triggers, and information management risks.
• You'll collaborate with business, legal, privacy, audit, and IT stakeholders to translate legislative and policy requirements into practical business rules.
• You'll prepare clear documentation including classification models, retention rationales, procedures, guidance, and decision logs.
• You'll assess legal, privacy, operational, audit, and reputational risks while recommending practical records management solutions.
• You'll support information governance modernization initiatives, including digital transformation and structured information management practices.
Skills and Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in information governance, records management, compliance, privacy, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience developing records classification structures and retention schedules in complex or regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of records lifecycle management, taxonomy design, retention and disposition principles, and metadata for recordkeeping.
• Experience mapping business processes and identifying where records are created, stored, transferred, duplicated, or manually managed.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify gaps, prioritize high-risk records, and distinguish official records from transitory information.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in plain language.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, cloud content repositories, enterprise content management platforms, or similar technologies. Experience with digital transformation, information architecture, automation, or federally regulated environments is considered an asset.
