About the Opportunity
Join a purpose-driven organization in the financial services sector where effective information governance plays a critical role in supporting compliance, operational excellence, and sound decision-making. As an Information Services Consultant, you'll help shape modern records management practices that enable teams across the organization to work more efficiently while meeting evolving regulatory and business requirements.

Working closely with business leaders, legal, privacy, audit, and technology stakeholders, you'll contribute to initiatives that improve how information is classified, retained, and managed throughout its lifecycle. This is an opportunity to influence meaningful change in a collaborative, highly regulated environment that values practical solutions and continuous improvement.

What's In It for You
Gain exposure to enterprise-wide information governance initiatives that have lasting organizational impact. You'll collaborate with experienced cross-functional teams, contribute to modernization efforts, and work in a remote-first environment that values knowledge sharing, collaboration, and professional growth.

Your Responsibilities
• You'll develop and maintain records classification structures and retention schedules aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
• You'll analyze end-to-end business processes to identify records, retention triggers, and information management risks.
• You'll collaborate with business, legal, privacy, audit, and IT stakeholders to translate legislative and policy requirements into practical business rules.
• You'll prepare clear documentation including classification models, retention rationales, procedures, guidance, and decision logs.
• You'll assess legal, privacy, operational, audit, and reputational risks while recommending practical records management solutions.
• You'll support information governance modernization initiatives, including digital transformation and structured information management practices.

Skills and Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in information governance, records management, compliance, privacy, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience developing records classification structures and retention schedules in complex or regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of records lifecycle management, taxonomy design, retention and disposition principles, and metadata for recordkeeping.
• Experience mapping business processes and identifying where records are created, stored, transferred, duplicated, or manually managed.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify gaps, prioritize high-risk records, and distinguish official records from transitory information.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in plain language.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, cloud content repositories, enterprise content management platforms, or similar technologies. Experience with digital transformation, information architecture, automation, or federally regulated environments is considered an asset.
