An established public sector organization is seeking an experienced Project Management Leader to provide interim leadership within a mature Project Management Office. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, can quickly establish credibility, and enjoys supporting teams through complex, high-impact initiatives.

Reporting to senior leadership, you'll oversee a team of Project Managers while helping drive project governance, consistency, and delivery across a diverse portfolio. Projects may include regulatory initiatives, technology implementations, clinical programs, and enterprise-wide business transformation, all within a highly accountable, public-facing environment.

What’s In It for You
This is an opportunity to step into a visible leadership role where your expertise will have an immediate impact. You'll collaborate with senior leaders, influence project delivery practices, mentor experienced Project Managers, and contribute to meaningful initiatives that serve the public. You'll also join a workplace that values collaboration, adaptability, and continuous improvement.

Your Responsibilities
• You'll oversee a team of 5 to 6 Project Managers, providing guidance, coaching, and support on project management best practices.
• You'll assign projects, monitor delivery, and help maintain consistent project frameworks, governance, and reporting standards.
• You'll lead complex projects from initiation through implementation, ensuring milestones, budgets, timelines, and resources remain on track.
• You'll facilitate leadership meetings, prepare project updates, manage risks and issues, and escalate key decisions when required.
• You'll support stakeholder communications, change management activities, and vendor coordination to ensure successful project outcomes.
• You'll help ensure a seamless transition of projects and responsibilities at the conclusion of the interim assignment.

Skills and Qualifications
• 5-8 years of progressive project management experience, including leading complex, enterprise-level initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience providing leadership or oversight to Project Managers within a PMO environment.
• Experience delivering projects within public sector, municipal, government, consulting, or similarly regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of project governance, risk management, budgeting, resource planning, and executive reporting.
• Experience working within Agile environments, with exposure to regulatory, technology, business transformation, or clinical projects considered an asset.
• Outstanding communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to quickly establish trust and credibility.
