About the Opportunity
Our client in the public regulatory sector is seeking an experienced Law Clerk to support investigations and litigation involving regulatory misconduct and securities law matters. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to high-profile investigations while working alongside investigators, litigation counsel, and regulatory professionals in a fast-paced legal environment.
You'll play a critical role throughout the litigation lifecycle, from investigations and evidence management to hearings and appeals. Your attention to detail, legal knowledge, and ability to manage complex documentation will help ensure matters progress efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality.

Your Responsibilities
- You’ll support investigators and litigation counsel by reviewing evidence, conducting legal research, preparing investigative materials, and organizing documentary evidence for regulatory investigations.
- In this role, you’ll prepare and manage court and tribunal documents, including motions, affidavits, production orders, disclosure briefs, and hearing materials.
- You’ll review, organize, redact, and manage electronic disclosure using eDiscovery tools while ensuring compliance with legal and privacy requirements.
- You’ll provide litigation support during hearings and trials by managing exhibits, maintaining hearing databases, coordinating filings, and supporting witness and evidence preparation.
- You’ll liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including court officials, opposing counsel, regulators, and witnesses, while ensuring files are accurately maintained and managed through to closure.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Law Clerk supporting litigation, regulatory, or enforcement matters within a law firm, government agency, or similar legal environment.
- Completion of a two-year Law Clerk program and membership in good standing with the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (ILCO), or eligibility for membership.
- Strong knowledge of eDiscovery software and experience managing complex documentary evidence and electronic disclosure.
- Working knowledge of the Ontario Securities Act, Commodity Futures Act, Criminal Code, and related legislation, with familiarity with the securities regulatory environment considered essential.
- Exceptional legal drafting, organizational, analytical, and proofreading skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
