Working closely with cross-functional partners including Finance, Legal, Internal Audit, and external logistics providers, you will play a key role in strengthening compliance, improving processes, and supporting operational excellence. If you enjoy solving complex trade challenges while leading a collaborative team, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

What’s In It for You
• Join a collaborative, people-first environment that values continuous improvement and innovation.
• Lead a knowledgeable team while contributing to strategic business initiatives.
• Gain exposure to complex international trade and logistics operations.
• Work with experienced cross-functional partners who value collaboration and shared success.
• Be part of an organization that supports professional growth and leadership development.

Your Responsibilities
• You'll oversee all import and export activities, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, international trade laws, tariffs, duties, taxes, free trade agreements, and country-of-origin requirements.
• You'll partner with customs brokers to ensure accurate HS classifications, customs declarations, tariff coding, duty assessments, and regulatory compliance.
• You'll ensure all import and export documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant, including commercial invoices, certificates of origin, export declarations, packing lists, permits, and other regulatory documentation.
• You'll monitor changes to import and export legislation, sanctions, customs requirements, and trade regulations, implementing process improvements to strengthen compliance.
• You'll oversee domestic and international shipping operations, negotiate freight, brokerage, and logistics costs, maintain cargo insurance requirements, and build strong relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and logistics providers.
• You'll partner with Finance to ensure the accurate application and payment of duties, taxes, tariffs, GST/VAT, and other import and export-related costs.
• You'll lead or support investigations related to customs compliance, shipment discrepancies, regulatory inquiries, and audit activities while collaborating with Internal Audit, Finance, Legal, and regulatory agencies as required.
• You'll lead departmental audits to ensure compliance with internal policies, public sector travel and expense guidelines, and regulatory requirements. You'll prepare audit reports for senior leadership, provide recommendations to strengthen internal controls, support risk mitigation for the corporate card program, and work closely with departments to ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
• You'll develop and maintain import and export policies, procedures, record retention practices, and internal controls while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen compliance.
• You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and deliver a high level of customer service.
• You'll lead, coach, and develop a team of six, providing day-to-day direction, performance management, mentoring, and ongoing professional development.

Skills and Qualifications
