About the Opportunity
Our client, a growing organization in the construction industry, is seeking a Health & Safety Field Coordinator to join their team during an exciting period of expansion. With several major projects underway and additional growth planned over the coming years, this role offers the opportunity to help strengthen an evolving health and safety program while making a visible impact across multiple construction sites.
Reporting to the Health & Safety Field Manager, you'll become a trusted partner to site leadership, collaborating with Superintendents, Forepersons, and project teams to foster a proactive safety culture. This is a highly visible, field-based role suited to someone who enjoys building relationships, coaching others, and driving continuous improvement rather than simply enforcing compliance.
What's In It for You
• Join an organization experiencing significant growth with a strong project pipeline.
• Receive mentorship from an experienced Health & Safety leader with a clear path toward future leadership opportunities.
• Enjoy a role that combines autonomy with collaboration, giving you the opportunity to influence safety culture across multiple projects.
• Comprehensive benefits package, employer RRSP contribution, performance-based bonus potential, and company vehicle or vehicle allowance.
Your Responsibilities
• You'll spend the majority of your time visiting active construction sites, supporting project teams and reinforcing a positive safety culture.
• You'll conduct site inspections, safety audits, hazard assessments, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• You'll investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and recommend preventative measures.
• You'll deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training to employees and subcontractors.
• You'll partner with operational leaders to ensure compliance with Ontario health and safety legislation, COR requirements, and internal standards.
• You'll contribute to the continuous improvement of health and safety programs while building strong relationships across field operations.
Skills and Qualifications
• 3+ years of Health & Safety experience within commercial construction, infrastructure, heavy civil, or other large-scale construction environments. More experienced candidates are also encouraged to apply.
• Experience conducting site inspections, incident investigations, safety meetings, and field-based coaching.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and construction safety practices.
• COR experience is considered a strong asset.
• NCSO, CRSP, or another recognized Health & Safety designation is an asset. Candidates actively pursuing a designation are welcome.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and coach diverse construction teams.
• A hands-on, collaborative approach with a passion for building a strong safety culture.
