Our public sector client in Winnipeg, Manitoba is seeking two experienced Business Analysts to join their Information Technology and Business Operations teams. These roles are ideal for professionals with strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills who want to make an impact within a collaborative, public-sector environment.
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba
Work Model: Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite
Hours: 36.25 + hours per week
Contract Term: Long-term, until Jan 2027 with possible extension
Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or Business Administration (or equivalent)
Certifications: CBAP preferred
Both Business Analyst positions will support business units and IT teams by analyzing business processes, gathering requirements, and contributing to the design and delivery of technology-enabled solutions.
While both share core business analysis responsibilities, each has a distinct focus:
Works closely with IT project teams to document business requirements and design solutions.
Leads workflow analysis, requirements elicitation, and business process modeling.
Supports solution evaluation, testing, and implementation activities.
Ideal for candidates who enjoy structured project delivery and hands-on technical collaboration.
Focuses on business relationship management, intake processes, and opportunity analysis.
Strengthens collaboration between IT and business stakeholders.
Identifies new opportunities and ensures alignment between IT initiatives and business goals.
Ideal for candidates who excel in stakeholder engagement and strategic planning.
Gather, document, and analyze business and system requirements.
Conduct business process reviews and recommend improvements.
Prepare business cases, workflows, and documentation.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements.
Facilitate workshops, user training, and solution evaluations.
Support implementation, testing, and post-go-live activities.
Minimum 10 years in IT with 5+ years as a Business Analyst.
Experience in two or more IT domains, such as Application Development, Project Management, QA, or Infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of business analysis methodologies and tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira, Visio, SharePoint).
Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships, facilitate discussions, and provide clear documentation.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
CBAP certification (IIBA) or equivalent.
Experience with Business Opportunity Analysis and Intake Processes.
Working knowledge of IT contracts and contract management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
