About the Opportunity
An established public sector organization is seeking an Observability Engineer to join a collaborative Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team supporting critical technology platforms and services. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the reliability, performance, and visibility of cloud-based systems that support services used by thousands of people every day.
Working alongside SRE professionals, technical teams, and business stakeholders, you will help shape observability practices across Azure environments. From monitoring strategies and alerting frameworks to dashboard development and operational insights, your work will directly support system resilience, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

Your Responsibilities
• You’ll create and maintain an inventory of Azure-based components and services
• You’ll assess existing Azure Monitor and Log Analytics coverage and identify improvement opportunities
• You’ll define key observability signals, including latency, traffic, errors, and saturation metrics
• You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to establish SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets
• You’ll configure Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, alerts, and thresholds to support operational excellence
• You’ll build Azure Workbook dashboards that provide meaningful insights into system health and performance
• You’ll document solutions and deliver knowledge transfer sessions to technical teams
Skills and Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in cloud operations, observability, monitoring, or related engineering roles
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and Azure Application Insights
• Experience monitoring data platforms, databases, and event-driven architectures
• Knowledge of Azure Event Grid, APIs, and system integrations
• Experience building dashboards, visualizations, and operational reporting solutions within Azure
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform
• Experience working within Scrum Agile environments; familiarity with Grafana is considered an asset
