Job Description

Location: Victoria, BC (Hybrid preferred – 4 days per week onsite; remote candidates will be considered)
Language: English, professional written and verbal communication required
Contract Duration: 8 months with the opportunity for one additional extension for another 6 months based on business needs and performance within the role 
 
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and analytical Senior Financial Analyst to join a high-performing Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis team on a contract basis. In this role, you will support enterprise-wide budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and strategic planning activities while partnering closely with stakeholders across multiple departments.

Your Responsibilities
• You'll support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes across multiple departments
• You'll prepare budget-to-actual variance analysis and provide meaningful insights to support management decision-making
• In this role, you'll complete monthly accruals, reclassifications, and other financial adjustments to ensure accurate reporting
• You'll develop and maintain forecasting models, budgets, and financial reports using Workday Adaptive Planning
• You'll prepare financial reporting packages and presentations for management and governance audiences
• You'll act as a trusted partner to budget owners, providing financial guidance and supporting departmental planning activities
• You'll perform ad hoc financial analysis, scenario modelling, and business case evaluations as required
• You'll support special projects, corporate initiatives, and other FP&A deliverables while ensuring deadlines are met
Skills and Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, or related finance functions
• Professional accounting or finance designation (CPA or CFA) required
• University degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting methodologies, forecasting techniques, and variance analysis
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with proficiency in Word and PowerPoint
• Experience working with Workday Adaptive Planning or similar enterprise planning platforms
• Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar technologies is considered an asset
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to translate financial information into meaningful business insights
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a collaborative environment
