About the Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Human Resources Manager to lead the people strategy and day-to-day HR operations for a newly established, high-volume distribution center in Montreal. This is a unique opportunity to help build a workforce, culture, and HR function from the ground up while supporting the launch and growth of a strategically important operation.
As a trusted business partner, you will work closely with site leadership and operational stakeholders to develop and implement HR initiatives that drive engagement, performance, compliance, and organizational effectiveness. Your Responsibilities
• You’ll serve as the primary HR partner for site leadership, aligning people strategies with operational goals and workforce requirements
• You’ll lead workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives to support a growing and high-volume operation
• In this role, you’ll oversee employee relations matters, conduct investigations, resolve workplace concerns, and ensure consistent application of policies and procedures
• You’ll ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and workplace standards while maintaining audit readiness
• You’ll coach leaders on performance management, talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement strategies
• You’ll support compensation and benefits programs, ensuring fair and consistent application of pay practices and workforce policies
• You’ll identify training and development opportunities while supporting leadership development and employee growth initiatives
• You’ll leverage HR metrics and workforce data to provide insights that support operational and business decision-making
• You’ll act as a key liaison between HR, operations, and external service providers, ensuring strong governance and effective stakeholder management
Skills and Qualifications
• 5-8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably within logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, distribution, or other high-volume operational environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field
• Fully bilingual in French and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, leaders, and stakeholders in both languages
• Strong knowledge of Quebec and Canadian employment legislation, labor standards, and HR compliance requirements
• Proven experience supporting high-volume hourly workforces and fast-paced operational environments
• Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and performance management
• Experience partnering with operational leaders to drive workforce planning, engagement, and organizational effectiveness
• Experience working with outsourced service providers, staffing agencies, 3PL, or 4PL environments is considered a strong asset
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret workforce data and provide actionable recommendations
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills
