Job Description

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid, 3 days/week on-site)

Duration: 12-month contract with potential 9-month extension

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to support high-profile modernization and transformation initiatives within a large, complex public sector environment. This role offers the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide technology decisions, shape future-state architecture, and deliver innovative solutions that support critical business operations and services.

Working closely with project teams, business leaders, vendors, and technical stakeholders, you will provide architectural leadership across major modernization programs. You will play a key role in evaluating technologies, designing scalable solutions, and ensuring seamless integration within a diverse enterprise technology landscape.

Your Responsibilities

• You’ll lead the development of solution architectures that align with business objectives and enterprise standards

• In this role, you’ll design and validate integrations between enterprise applications, platforms, and core business systems

• You’ll provide architectural guidance throughout procurement, vendor evaluation, implementation, and delivery phases

• In this role, you’ll create architecture artifacts including high-level designs, integration models, architecture assessments, and decision documents

• You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate solution options, assess impacts, and recommend technology approaches

• In this role, you’ll support architecture governance processes and present solutions for enterprise review and approval

• You’ll ensure proposed solutions integrate effectively with existing infrastructure, cloud environments, and enterprise platforms

 

Skills and Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, including requirements analysis, architecture design, technology evaluation, solution assessment, and implementation planning within complex environments

• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale on-premises and cloud transformation initiatives, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), software-defined infrastructure, and public/private cloud environments

• Experience working with enterprise-grade network technologies, platforms, and services

• Enterprise Architecture certifications and experience with IBM Maximo applications are considered strong assets

• Proven ability to influence stakeholders, lead cross-functional teams, and support strategic decision-making across multiple levels of an organization

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, research, and critical-thinking capabilities
