Job Description

Location: West Kelowna, BC (On-site, 5 days per week)
Language: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required
Duration: June 15th – September 18th (Full-time contract, with possible extensions)
Hours: 7.5 hours/day (37.5 hours/week), Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 3 PM

About the Opportunity

Altis Recruitment is grateful to partner with an organization within the Broader Public Sector space to support the recruitment of an Administrative Assistant. This is a 3-month contract opportunity based out of the organization’s West Kelowna office, offering the chance to support a busy and collaborative healthcare-focused environment.

In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring records are accurate, up to date, and compliant, while also supporting day-to-day office operations.

This position also includes a broad range of administrative responsibilities that support the overall efficiency of the team and office environment.

This role is open to all qualified candidates; however, preference may be given to individuals who identify as First Nations, Inuit or Métis and or/have experience working with First Nations, Inuit or Métis communities. The final hiring decision will be based on merit.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will maintain general office organization and manage supplies inventory
  • You will receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages
  • You will maintain fleet schedules, track vehicle usage and availability
  • You will complete data entry, record keeping, and filing tasks to support team operations
  • You will prepare meeting minutes as required
  • You will collaborate with team members to identify and support process improvements
  • You will proactively support communication flow across teams and provide updates as needed

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong background in customer service or administrative support
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook
  • Excellent written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities independently
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
  • Process improvement mindset with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach
  • Healthcare or public sector experience is considered an asset but not required (training will be provided)
  • Experience working alongside First Nations, Inuit, or Métis communities, businesses, or organizations is considered a strong asset
