Senior Manager, External Reporting & Accounting Policy
Location: Oshawa, ON (On-site, 5 days per week)
Compensation: $130,000 - $145,000 T4, plus annual target bonus and Medium-Term Incentive Plan (MTIP)
Language: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills required

About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a large, highly respected organization operating within a regulated infrastructure environment to recruit a Senior Manager, External Reporting & Accounting Policy. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong accounting professional to play a critical role in shaping external reporting, accounting policy, and regulatory compliance within a complex and evolving business.
You will work closely with senior finance leaders, auditors, executive stakeholders, and regulatory bodies while leading a team responsible for external financial reporting and technical accounting matters. Your Responsibilities
- You'll lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual external financial reporting, including financial statements, management discussion and analysis, and other public disclosures
- You'll oversee accounting policy development, implementation, and interpretation to ensure compliance with evolving accounting standards
- In this role, you'll partner with auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders to address complex technical accounting matters
- You'll drive process improvements that enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and governance across the finance function
- You'll support executive leadership and board-level reporting by preparing technical analyses and briefing materials
- You'll lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team while fostering a collaborative and accountable work environment
Skills and Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive experience in external reporting, technical accounting, or financial reporting environments
- CPA, CA designation required
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, with working knowledge of IFRS and complex accounting matters
- Experience within public company reporting environments, including regulatory filing requirements
- Previous experience within a public accounting firm, preferably with exposure to large and complex organizations
- Proven ability to research, analyze, and communicate complex accounting issues to diverse stakeholders
- Strong leadership, relationship-building, and team development skills
