About the Opportunity
An established global consumer goods organization is seeking a strategic and commercially driven Commercial Director to lead its national growth strategy and oversee full business performance across the Canadian market. This executive leadership role combines commercial strategy, brand stewardship, financial accountability, and cross-functional collaboration to accelerate growth and strengthen market presence.
Reporting to the North American leadership team, you will work closely with internal stakeholders across marketing, finance, supply chain, regulatory, and insights functions, while leading key external partners responsible for sales execution, logistics, advertising, and market intelligence. Your Responsibilities
• You’ll develop and execute the nationwide commercial strategy, including annual sales plans, growth initiatives, and profitability targets
• You’ll oversee full P&L performance, ensuring delivery of revenue, margin, and cash flow objectives
• You’ll lead and develop a small internal team while fostering alignment with company values and business goals
• You’ll manage key external partners, including distributors, agencies, and market insight providers, to drive commercial success
• You’ll guide national marketing and communications initiatives, ensuring alignment with global brand strategies and local market needs
• You’ll identify new business opportunities and support customer growth through strategic partnerships and market expansion efforts
• You’ll collaborate across functions to bring innovation to market and optimize portfolio performance
Skills and Qualifications
• 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial leadership, marketing, or general management roles
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, MBA preferred
• Proven experience managing P&L performance and delivering sustainable business growth
• Strong background in consumer packaged goods (CPG) or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environments
• Demonstrated success leading teams and managing external agencies, distributors, or strategic partners
• Strong analytical, financial, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
