We are partnering with a well-established commercial real estate organization seeking an experienced Building Operator to oversee a portfolio of commercial office, retail, and industrial properties. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day operations while ensuring tenants, visitors, and stakeholders receive exceptional service.

Working closely with operations, maintenance staff, contractors, and property management teams, you will play a key role in maintaining safe, efficient, and high-performing properties. Your Responsibilities
• You’ll oversee the daily operations of commercial office, retail, and warehouse properties
• You’ll manage maintenance staff, contractors, and service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery
• You’ll conduct routine building inspections and coordinate repairs, maintenance activities, and safety initiatives
• You’ll monitor HVAC, electrical, mechanical, security, fire alarm, and life safety systems to ensure optimal performance
• You’ll respond to tenant concerns, service requests, emergencies, and participate in an after-hours on-call rotation
• You’ll manage service contracts, support insurance claims and restoration activities, and assist with leasing-related requirements
• You’ll prepare capital expenditure recommendations and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company standards

Skills and Qualifications
• 5–8 years of progressive experience in commercial, retail, or industrial building operations and maintenance
• Must be eligible to obtain a Reliability clearance.
• Certification in Building Environmental Systems (Class 1 & 2), SMT, 4th/5th Class Stationary Engineer, or equivalent designation
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire alarm, life safety, and related building systems
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and technical documentation
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing staff, contractors, and service providers
• Strong problem-solving, negotiation, customer service, and communication skills
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and emergency response procedures
