Job Description

Location: Ottawa or Calgary, Hybrid (12 days per month on-site preferred, fully remote may be considered)
Language: English, strong written and verbal communication skills required
Duration: 18-month contract with a potential 6-month extension
Background Check Requirement: Must be eligible to obtain Reliability Status security clearance

Working alongside technical leads, architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams, you will contribute to cloud migration initiatives, modernize enterprise integrations, and provide expertise across messaging, middleware, and platform technologies. Your Responsibilities
  • Serve as a senior Systems Integrator, providing hands-on technical expertise and support across enterprise integration initiatives
  • Support Azure cloud migration and modernization projects, including application migrations, environment design, DevOps practices, and post-migration stabilization
  • Lead and support the modernization of MuleSoft integrations into Spring Boot-based services and microservices architectures
  • Provide technical expertise for OpenShift, IBM MQ, and Red Hat AMQ environments, including upgrades, troubleshooting, testing, and release support
  • Support production systems through performance tuning, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution
  • Contribute to technical documentation, design artifacts, operational runbooks, and testing strategies
  • Collaborate closely with architects, technical leads, and Agile delivery teams to ensure successful solution implementation
Skills and Qualifications
  • 7+ years of recent hands-on experience in enterprise software development, including senior technical engineering and advanced production support roles.
  • 7+ years of recent hands-on experience supporting Azure cloud migration and modernization initiatives for enterprise applications and integrations.
  • Strong experience in application development, integration development, and enterprise integration solutions.
  • Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, and supporting solutions on Microsoft Azure and Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO).
  • Proven expertise in cloud-native application modernization and migration of enterprise workloads to Azure.
  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Strong experience supporting Azure cloud migration and modernization initiatives, including Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO)
  • Demonstrated expertise with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices-based architecturesExperience modernizing enterprise integration platforms, including migration from MuleSoft or similar technologies
  • Hands-on experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes, IBM MQ, Red Hat AMQ, IBM DataPower, and Managed File Transfer services
  • Strong SQL and database performance optimization experience
  • Experience with GitOps, Argo CD, Azure networking, firewall and connectivity design, and hybrid cloud environments
  • Proven ability to work effectively within Agile/Scrum teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments and AI-enabled productivity tools is considered an asset
