Compensation: $100,000- $120,000 + comprehensive benefits package

About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established public accounting firm, is seeking a Tax Manager to join their growing team in Ottawa. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced tax professional who enjoys combining technical expertise with leadership, mentorship, and strategic client advisory work.
In this role, you'll partner closely with business owners, private enterprises, and fellow accounting professionals to deliver meaningful tax planning solutions that help clients achieve their financial goals. Your Responsibilities
- You'll lead and manage complex tax planning, advisory, and compliance engagements for a diverse client portfolio
- You'll review tax filings, research findings, and client deliverables to ensure quality and accuracy
- You'll advise clients on tax minimization strategies, legislative changes, and business planning opportunities
- You'll mentor, coach, and develop junior team members through ongoing feedback and performance support
- You'll build and maintain trusted client relationships while identifying opportunities to add value
- You'll oversee multiple engagements simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met
- You'll contribute to business development initiatives, thought leadership, and firm growth activities
Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience
- CPA designation required
- Experience delivering tax planning, advisory, research, and compliance services within a CPA firm environment
- Previous leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring, or managing direct reports
- Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate tax legislation and tax planning strategies
- Completion of, or progress toward, the CPA In-Depth Tax Program is considered a strong asset
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, project management, and organizational skills
