Reporting to the Director of Corporate Finance, you'll work alongside a collaborative and mission-focused team while overseeing key accounting functions and leading a small but dedicated group of finance professionals. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys mentoring others, and brings strong nonprofit accounting expertise.

Your Responsibilities

• You'll lead and support a team of three accounting professionals across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and transactional finance functions
• You'll oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring financial records are accurate, complete, and maintained in a timely manner
• You'll manage the annual audit process and support the preparation of external financial statements
• You'll strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and operational processes while identifying opportunities for automation and modernization
• You'll oversee payroll accounting entries, cash management activities, bank reconciliations, and vendor payment processes
• You'll collaborate with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, project accounting, and organizational financial reporting
• You'll mentor and develop team members through coaching, workload management, and performance support

Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting and financial management experience in a Senior Accountant, Controller or similar leadership role
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting
• Proficiency with financial systems and reporting tools, experience with PeopleSoft is considered a strong asset
• Previous experience managing and developing staff within a finance function
• Experience leading year-end close activities and coordinating external audits
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, CPA designation preferred but not required
• Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
