About the Opportunity

Our client, a mission-driven not-for-profit organization, is seeking a Finance Supervisor to support and strengthen their day-to-day financial operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative finance professional who enjoys balancing hands-on accounting responsibilities with team leadership and operational improvement initiatives.

In this role, you’ll work closely with internal stakeholders across the organization while supporting a dedicated finance team in delivering accurate, compliant, and efficient financial processes. From payroll and grant administration to audit preparation and system optimization, your work will directly contribute to the organization’s ability to serve its community and achieve its mission.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate financial processing.
  • In this role, you’ll supervise and mentor Finance Associates, supporting team development and knowledge sharing.
  • You’ll prepare and review journal entries, payroll transactions, fixed asset reporting, and reconciliations.
  • You’ll act as the finance superuser for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, supporting troubleshooting and process improvements.
  • You’ll manage bi-weekly payroll processing and maintain employee records within ADP WorkforceNow.
  • You’ll support external audits, government filings, and T3010 reporting requirements.
  • You’ll coordinate grant administration activities, including agreement preparation and financial tracking.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, preferably within a charitable or not-for-profit environment
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience supporting finance teams
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and ADP WorkforceNow is considered a strong asset
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, payroll processes, and audit preparation
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across all levels of an organization
