An established mining operation in Northern Ontario is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Analyst to support financial performance, operational decision-making, and long-term sustainability initiatives. Your Responsibilities
• You’ll collaborate with operational managers to develop annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts
• In this role, you’ll monitor budget-to-actual performance, conduct root cause analysis, and identify cost variances
• You’ll track mining-related costs and recommend opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies
• You’ll support weekly cost analysis activities, including accruals, commitments, reclassifications, and financial accuracy reviews
• In this role, you’ll prepare financial reports and present key findings, trends, and recommendations to leadership teams
• You’ll maintain and analyze financial data within systems such as SAP, Power BI, Anaplan, and OneStream
• You’ll support compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies
Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline
• 3+ years of progressive experience as a Cost Analyst or Financial Analyst in mining
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, capital budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis principles
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using SAP, Power BI, Anaplan, or similar financial systems
• Knowledge of SAP PR-PO processes, account assignments, commitments, work orders, accruals, and reclassification entries
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to support both financial and operational stakeholders
