About the Opportunity
An established private sector organization is seeking a Manager of Software Development to lead a collaborative and technically driven team focused on delivering impactful digital solutions. This opportunity is ideal for a people-first leader who enjoys mentoring teams, modernizing development practices, and driving innovation across software and data environments.

Reporting to the Director of Software and Data, you will play a key role in shaping technical strategy, delivery standards, and engineering culture. Your leadership will help strengthen system reliability, improve scalability, and support long-term organizational growth while working closely with cross-functional stakeholders across the business.

What’s In It for You
You’ll join a workplace that values collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to influence technical direction, mentor high-performing professionals, and contribute to meaningful modernization initiatives in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

You’ll also gain exposure to cloud technologies, Agile leadership, AI-augmented development practices, and enterprise-scale transformation projects. The organization promotes innovation, encourages new ideas, and supports professional growth at every stage of your career.

Your Responsibilities
• You’ll lead and mentor a team of software engineers and data professionals, supporting performance, development, and technical excellence.
• You’ll guide Agile delivery practices using Scrum or Kanban methodologies to improve collaboration, efficiency, and delivery outcomes.
• You’ll oversee product and project delivery activities, including backlog prioritization, stakeholder collaboration, release planning, and risk management.
• You’ll evaluate technical solutions, conduct reviews, and recommend improvements that enhance scalability, compliance, and system performance.
• You’ll support CI/CD processes, DevOps best practices, and release management activities to ensure stable and reliable deployments.
• You’ll leverage Generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot Enterprise and Claude to accelerate modernization efforts, automate testing, and improve development velocity.
• You’ll communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, supporting informed decision making across the organization.

Skills and Qualifications
• 3+ years of progressive leadership experience within software development or data-focused environments.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on development experience with languages such as Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, or PHP.
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps principles and practices.
• Demonstrated experience implementing AI-augmented development workflows to support modernization, testing automation, and code generation initiatives.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and leadership levels.

Note from the Hiring Manager
“We’re looking for a thoughtful leader who can elevate our technical practices while supporting a team that genuinely cares about the work they do. If you bring curiosity, compassion, and a desire to help people succeed, you’ll fit right in.”
