We’re seeking a collaborative and solutions-focused Human Resources Advisor to support a large post-secondary institution through a period of operational renewal and service transformation. In this role, you’ll provide trusted HR guidance to leaders, managers, and employees while helping ensure people-related decisions are thoughtful, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals.

You’ll join a client service team that values partnership, accountability, open communication, and practical problem-solving. This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful institutional change while supporting managers and employees through recruitment, employee relations, performance, accommodation, compensation, and policy matters.

What’s In It for You
This role offers broad exposure across the full HR lifecycle, with the opportunity to advise on complex employee matters, support organizational design, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll be part of a collaborative environment where your judgment, relationship-building skills, and commitment to inclusive HR practices will make a real impact.

Your Responsibilities
• You’ll act as a primary HR contact, advising clients on policies, collective agreements, compensation, benefits, performance management, accommodations, and employee relations
• In this role, you’ll support operational redesign initiatives, including organizational design, position impacts, and compensation considerations
• You’ll guide managers through full-cycle recruitment, including posting development, selection tools, interviews, references, offers, and onboarding
• You’ll provide advice on labour and employee relations matters, including discipline, workplace conflict, performance concerns, terminations, and documentation
• You’ll administer job evaluation and classification processes, applying policies consistently and communicating decisions clearly
• You’ll identify trends, recommend process improvements, and support HR projects, training, policy implementation, and business process reviews

Skills and Qualifications
• 5+ years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a unionized environment
• Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• CHRP designation is preferred
• Strong knowledge of employment standards, human rights, occupational health and safety, and other employment legislation
• Experience interpreting collective agreements, HR policies, and employment-related procedures
• Experience with HR information systems and recruitment management systems, including tools such as PeopleSoft or recruitment platforms, is considered an asset
• Strong communication, facilitation, problem-solving, organization, confidentiality, and relationship-building skills
