About the Opportunity
An established organization in the broader public and community services space is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support disability management and employee accommodation programs during a key transitional period within the HR team. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting employees through complex return-to-work and accommodation processes while contributing to a collaborative and evolving HR function.
Working closely with HR leaders and a supportive team of HR professionals, you’ll play a central role in managing non-occupational disability claims, coordinating accommodation plans, and supporting learning and development initiatives. Your Responsibilities
• You’ll manage STD, LTD, and non-occupational return-to-work and accommodation cases, ensuring compliant and employee-focused outcomes
• In this role, you’ll assess accommodation requests and support the development of individualized return-to-work plans
• You’ll collaborate with employees, leaders, and third-party providers to coordinate disability management processes
• You’ll support learning and development administration through LMS coordination, training assignments, and event logistics
• You’ll maintain accurate HR documentation, reporting, and case tracking to support data-driven decision making
• You’ll contribute to HR initiatives and projects as organizational priorities evolve
Skills and Qualifications
• 3+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on disability management and return-to-work planning
• Experience managing complex STD, LTD, and medical accommodation cases
• Knowledge of accommodation practices, employee wellness support, and disability management processes
• Experience supporting HR programs or projects from initiation through completion
• Familiarity with LMS platforms, ideally Dayforce Learning, is considered an asset
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive information professionally
• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally within the GTA as needed
