An innovative organization specializing in medical and scientific communications is seeking an Account Manager, Medical Communications to build and strengthen relationships with organizations across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, academic, and non-profit sectors. Your Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:
- You'll serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, building trusted, long-term relationships across pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, academic, and non-profit organizations.
- You'll proactively identify opportunities to expand client partnerships through cross-selling and upselling medical writing, publications, CME/CPD, scientific content development, meeting reports, and related services.
- You'll collaborate closely with medical writers, editors, and scientific consultants to coordinate project delivery, monitor timelines and budgets, and ensure exceptional client experiences.
- You'll prepare proposals, scopes of work, presentations, and service agreements while supporting contract renewals and new client onboarding.
- You'll generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals, LinkedIn outreach, conferences, and strategic prospecting initiatives.
- You'll represent the organization at industry conferences and client meetings on a monthly or semi-monthly basis, strengthening relationships and expanding market presence.
- You'll maintain CRM records, manage sales pipelines, monitor account performance, and contribute to business development strategies, revenue forecasting, and market growth initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive experience in account management, business development, healthcare sales, pharmaceutical sales, medical communications, or a related client-facing role.
- Demonstrated success managing client relationships, growing accounts, and contributing to revenue targets.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, academic, or life sciences landscape.
- Bachelor's degree required, with an advanced degree in life sciences, healthcare, medicine, pharmacy, or a related discipline considered an asset.
- Experience within a medical communications agency, medical writing organization, scientific publishing environment, CRO, pharmaceutical company, or healthcare communications setting is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage multiple stakeholders in a consultative manner.
- Experience attending, networking, or exhibiting at conferences and industry events
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with experience using CRM platforms and managing multiple priorities in a remote environment.
