A leading Canadian construction and EPC organization is seeking an experienced Operations Manager, Substations to lead complex high-voltage and substation projects across Canada. In this role, you’ll work alongside project managers, superintendents, field teams, and executive leadership to oversee the successful delivery of major electrical construction projects. Your Responsibilities
• You’ll lead the execution and delivery of substation construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget
• In this role, you’ll oversee project financials including forecasting, productivity tracking, change management, and commercial performance
• You’ll support business growth initiatives by developing client relationships and identifying new project opportunities
• You’ll recruit, mentor, and lead project managers, coordinators, and superintendents to foster a high-performing team environment
• You’ll collaborate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the full project lifecycle, from preconstruction to closeout
• You’ll ensure compliance with contractual requirements, quality standards, and company safety expectations across all projects
• You’ll contribute to annual business planning and support contract negotiations, partnerships, and strategic planning activities
Skills and Qualifications
• 15+ years of electrical construction experience, including 10+ years focused on high-voltage and substation projects
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams, crews, or subcontractors within construction environments
• Strong experience within energy, renewables, industrial, or utility electrical construction projects
• Proven knowledge of electrical codes, drawings, installation practices, and commissioning activities
• Experience managing EPC projects or large-scale infrastructure initiatives is considered an asset
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital construction or field management tools
