Our client in the municipal government sector is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to support their finance team during a busy period. This role offers the chance to contribute to essential public services by ensuring accurate and timely financial operations that directly impact the community.

You’ll work closely with finance professionals and vendors, playing a key role in maintaining strong financial controls and relationships. Your Responsibilities
• You’ll review and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization
• In this role, you’ll code and enter invoices into the accounting system with precision
• You’ll match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents to ensure accuracy
• You’ll prepare and process payments, including cheque runs and electronic transfers
• You’ll reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• You’ll communicate with vendors to address inquiries and maintain strong relationships

Skills and Qualifications
• 1 to 3 years of accounts payable or related accounting experience
• Experience working with SAP is an asset
• Post-secondary education in Accounting or a related field
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume workloads
• Familiarity with construction, public sector, or similar industries is an asset
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
